Happy Halloween!

In light of Halloween, I figured I'd put some scary video on here to keep with the spirit of the holiday. The video you are about to see is actual footage of a ghost being spoted in London, England. If you don't believe in ghosts, this video should change that. Also, for all those who are really into ghosts and paranormal activity, you should watch Most Haunted Live 2006 today at 3pm-6pm on the Travel Channel. It will be re-aired at 7pm and then again at 10pm if you can't catch it this afternoon. Anyways, check out the video and have a Happy Halloween.

Week 4 Standings

As expected, we all did absolutely horrible this past weekend. Koontz took home top honors with a 2-3 record...that's how bad it was. In all, the four of us had a combined record of 5-15. However, I am proud to announce that nobody went winless, and we were all very consistent...consitently bad. Anyways, here are the standings after week 4. This week can't get any worse, and lets hope that someone finishes the season over .500.

1. Clemson (-5) @ Virginia Tech
It's tough to win in Blacksburg, but Clemson can do it. VT has had no quarterback play and their psyche is in shambles. Anyone see the Hokies conerback who was dancing around on the field when they were getting trounced by Boston College a few weeks ago? What an idiot.

2. Notre Dame (-13) @ Navy
Navy quarterback and entire team Brian Hampton dislocated his knee a couple of weeks ago against Rutgers and is out indefinitely. Notre Dame seems to rarely cover, but I think they will do it this week.

3. Wisconsin (21.5) vs. Illinois
Simply put, Wisconsin is on a tear. They are crushing everyone they play and will continue to do so against Illinois in Camp Randall. Besides, our very own Jim Macho is attending the game and he will not let the Badgers fall short of covering. He always finds a way.

4. Wake Forest (-8.5) @ North Carolina
I watched North Carolina play Virginia last week and they looked absolutely horrible. I'm not sold on Wake Forest, but I think they are solid enough to cover against the Tar Heels. Also, Wake's quarterback's has the same last name as my girlfriend. I asure you that the last name thing had nothing to do with the pick, but it made me feel good after I picked it.

5. Texas (-10) @ Texas Tech
First time all year that I have gone with Texas. The weird thing about it is that I actually like Texas Tech, but I have a good feeling about this one. Texas has a good secondary that will contain the Red Raider passing attack, and Limas sWEED will have another big day for the Longhorns.

Kevin's Picks:
Well I'd like to start by apologizing Mr. Sharp for the one liners last week. As if you haven’t already noticed, I suck so far at this whole ordeal. So after the horrid week two, I found a lack of motivation and gave you shitty one liners, and ended up with an even week at 2-2-1. Well I am newly motivated and ready to give you my reasoning’s...Each week thus far I have taken a different approach to my picks and it has not worked out well. As you can tell by my dismal 6-8-1 record. So I thought of yet another way to make this week’s picks. I formulated the following “types” of picks:
* I actually did this before making the picks, no joke.

-The “Thursty Thursday” pick, I am always drinking during the Thursday night games and always ask myself why I didn’t bet on it to make it more fun.
-The Opposite pick, this is self-explanatory, find two teams with opposite records and pick the better of the two. This I assume will be harder to do as the season passes.
-The PK pick, Find a game with an even line and pick who you think will win. It is as easy as that.
-The Revenge pick, Find a team that screwed you in a previous bet and bet against them.
-The Inspirational pick, this one simply demands you find a team who will be inspired to win on game day. Whether it is for the death of a player, or facing a rival. Pick them they will win.

*****Before I get to Kevin's picks, I have to say that I throughly enjoyed what I just read and appreciate the effort. Not only that, but it all makes sense to me. Perhaps I will steal his style if my picks don't go well this week. Now back to the Kevin's picks*****

1. Clemson (-5)@ V.Tech
Last week's analysis for me probably would have been along the lines of, "Woodrow Dantzler was awesome and so is Clemson." I think that is enough to say Clemson will cover however let it be known that, Clemson's lone loss came at the hands of Boston College. Clemson lost that game by 1 point. Virginia Tech lost to Boston College by 19. Thus I declare Clemson a better football team and will cover the 4 points on the road.

2. Wake Forest (-8.5) @ UNC
Well the Demon Deacons have a record of 6-1. The Tar Heels a record of 1-6. Those are opposite. That means Wake Forrest will win by 10 points, end of story.

3. UCLA (-1) vs. Washington St.
Now when I originally picked this one it was even at pk. Now UCLA is a 1 point favorite. To be honest the only reason I picked it was because I thought to myself the other day, Vegas just makes the odds so that each team will be evenly matched, in a gambling sense that is. Well I can usually pick who wins, but not by how much they will win, thus my teams don’t cover. Well shit I told myself I am picking a pk this week. UCLA wins it hopefully by 2 now. Oh yeah and I own a UCLA shirt, GO BRUINS!

4. Florida (–13.5) vs. Georgia
Because a gator would beat a bulldog in a fight any day of the week, I guarantee it. Did I mention that I bet my left nut that Georgia would have beaten Vandy a few weeks back? Well the nut is being removed the 22nd of December (foreshadow). Not only did Georgia not cover that game, they lost. So I am taking Florida because they are very good and Georgia is not.

5. Marshall (-10) vs. Memphis
A combined 3 wins between the two, neither team has any talent and quite frankly suck. Why do I feel Marshall will win, yes they are at home and have one more win than that of the Tigers, however this is not what will drive them to victory Saturday, it will be inspiration. Inspiration that their new movie, WE ARE MARSHALL, starring Matthew McConaughey (How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Dazed and Confused) will be entering theaters across America December 22nd. Ok so those are my picks. Like my “reasoning’s” or not, I will be 5-0.
On a different note, since I sit at work and get paid to do this, I took a little extra time to look at the picks of last week and discovered that between the three of us, Sharp, Me and Jim who have made the picks each week that we are a combined 5-4 when at least two of us agree on a pick, cool eh? Why would I sit and figure that stuff out well...I spent 2 ½ hours typing this up and looking over the games that translates to 17 dollars of pay from my campus job. CU Friday at the Broux.

Jim's Picks:
1. @ Wisconsin (-21.5) vs. Illinois
Wisconsin always covers, you know that by now. Also I am attending this game followed by a Wisconsin hockey showdown with B.C. This will be my first ever double duty on a Badger game day. Oh and I'll be at Packers on Sunday, Good Times.

2. Wake Forest (-8.5) @ North Carolina
North Carolina's only win of the season was by three points over Furman. Who is Furman? you might ask, well Furman is tied for first in the Southern Conference, their nickname is the Paladins, they are from Greenville, SC, and purple is their primary color. Meanwhile, Wake is 6-1 with their only loss being to Clemson.

3. Texas A & M (-4.5) @ Baylor
In my mind Baylor will always suck at everything. They are actually 3-1 in conference and 4-4 overall, but A & M will continue to roll with a big win. I have 2.5 minutes to make my last two picks, before the computer shuts down and I have to start over.

4. @ Rutgers (-19.5) vs. Connecticut
The Scarlet Knights are playing great and the Huskies are not. Rutgers reminds me of Mr. McNulty from Stoughton, he used to always talk about them and I would make fun of him with Kevin.

5. @ Arkansas (-36) vs. La-Monro
Louisana Monroe is in the Sun Belt conference, Arkansas is undefeated in the SEC. I still don't like the SEC by the way.

Four that didn't make the cut, Wash -1 over ASU, Clemson -4 over V-Tech, Tulsa -15 over UTEP, and Ark. St. -8 over Fla. Atl. My original World Series pick was Detroit in 6, but that isn't looking so hot right now. I'll stick with it though.

Koontz' Picks:
1. Wisconsin (-21.5) vs. Illinois
...Is this Basketball or Football, Badgers cover both anyways. "Goooo Buckyyyy"-John Reiser

2. Iowa (-16.5) vs. NIU
NIU gave up 21 to Temple, That was my selling point.

3. BYU (-8.5) @ Air Force
BYU will score and score often, Air Force may keep it close but I doubt it.

4. Ohio State (-27) vs. Minny
If Ohio State hates Minn as much as UW, they will win by double. Ohio State by 54.

5. Arkansas (-36) vs. La Monroe
Arkansas is on fire outscoring opp. 101-10. They cover easy or win by 35 knowing my luck.

Week 3 Results are in, and for the second week in a row, Jim took top honors. He went 4-1 on the weekend, Kevin went 2-2-1 (Michigan was a push), I went 2-3, and Koontz finished his first week 1-4. I am proud to announce the addition of a new member to our panel. It's exciting because that means from here on out, if every member partakes every week, we will have 5 members picking. Well it's Thursday already, and that means the college football picks are in. Mike is on a week hiatus, so we are back down to 3 for week 3. Also, we are still waiting for a make-up date announcement for the postponed Miami (OH) vs. Buffalo game, and Mike's pick for that game will be honored. Once again, nothing new or fancy really. I will list the picks and then each of our reasons for picking each game. Before I begin, I want to point out that I am in the lead (no surprise), and that I plan on extending the lead by going 5 for 5 this week. That said, here's a quick look at the standings going into week 3:

Wisconsin is on a roll right now, and I think we all know by now that Wisconsin is one of the best bets every week as they continuously cover week after week.

2. West Virginia (-22) @ UCONN
UCONN cannot stop Pat White and Steve Slayton, they will both get close to 200 yards on the ground.

3. Notre Dame (-13.5) vs. UCLA
As much as I dislike Brady Quinn and his sister, I have to believe they will cover this week at home against the Bruins. There will be absolutely no defense played in this game by either team, and the score should be something like 42-24.

4. Tennessee (-11) vs. Alabama
Just found out a couple weeks ago that Alabama QB John Parker Wilson (not to be confused with USC QB John David Booty), was on the MTV show Two A Days and is know nicknamed Hollywood by teammates. Apparently his younger brother is the starting QB on the show. Actually, Hollywood Wilson is probably just a little less gay than John Parker Wilson, so maybe he should stick with it. Either way though, he is still going to suck.

5. Boise St. (-21) @ Idaho
I seem to watch Boise St. play every week on TV, and I like them for some reason. They don't have much defense, but the offense is unstoppable, and Idaho won't stop it.

Kevin's Reasons:
1. Arkansas (-21) @ Mississippi
Arkansas beat Auburn by 17. Hopefully they can beat Mississippi by that as well.

Note to Kevin: If they win by just 17, they won't cover.

2. Tennessee (-11) vs. Alabama
#7 Tennessee off a week rest win it in Knoxville.

Note to Kevin: There seems to be a lack of enthusiasm in this weeks picks, just my personal opinion. Maybe you were busy? Maybe you are disgusted with last week's performance? Who knows.

3. Michigan (-14) vs. Iowa
Michigan in the Big House stays undefeated.

Note to Kevin: Another one sentence reason, what is this?

4. Wisconsin (-6.5) @ Purdue
GO BUCKY!

Note to Kevin: I will let this one slide.

5. Auburn (-32) vs. Tulane
Tulane lost by 42 on the road to LSU. Lets see if it holds true for a better Auburn team.

Jim's Reasons:
1. Northern Illinois (-33.5) vs. Temple
Using the Temple Corollary for the second consecutive week I will take the Huskies over the Owls. This is not due to the fact that I was lost in DeKalb, Illinois earlier this fall. I hate DeKalb, but Temple really sucks.

Ahh...DeKaaaaaaaaaaaaaalb. So many memories. Not really, but it's fun to say.

2. Arkansas (-21) vs. Ole Miss
The SEC is very tough and Arkansas is undefeated so far in it. Ole Miss will be no match for the Razorbacks. One common theme I use from week to week is take a team that once screwed me over and Arkansas did just that against Auburn two weeks ago. Damn I hate the SEC.

Note to Jim: Sorry the line changed so much, hope you don't get screwed over.

3. Western Michigan (-3.5) @ Ball State
I love MAC football, I have nothing else to add.

You wouldn't.

4. Texas A&M (+3.5) @ Oklahoma State
I am not a huge fan of the Big 12, but I have always liked A&M ever since Sirr Parker and the Aggies beat K-State in the '99 Big 12 Title game to prevent the Wildcats from being a National Title contender.

Upon seeing this pick, I immediately liked it. Also, where the hell is Sirr Parker now?

5. Wisconsin (-6.5) @ Purdue
Badgers are killing right now, leading the Big Ten in scoring and are number six in the country in yards allowed per game. Also last time the Badgers traveled to Ross-Ade Stadium, Kyle Orton "called his own number" and blew the game. Damn Kyle Orton, damn Purdue, and damn the Chicago Bears.

I completely agree with this statement. While we are on the topic of Kyle Orton, has he shaved that neck beard yet that he grew last winter? Two words for Kyle Orton...Scott Starks.

Jim also added that he wished he would also have picked Boise over Idaho (which I did), Cal over Washington, W.V. over UConn (which I did), and Tennessee over Bama (which I did).

A couple of things before this entry ends. There is a segment in the works where Jim for sure (haven't talked to Kevin or Mike about it) will do a guest blog. I'm guessing he will pattern his style after the great Bill Simmons of ESPN, and I know a lot of you read his stuff on Page 2. Hopefully it will become a weekly thing. I figure it will add a little something to the blog and that perhaps people will read and comment more often than the already do. Wait...nobody comments right now...damnit. Anyways, let the games begin.

Ahhh....finally made it to Thursday. Good news, the fourth member is in this week, so this is the real deal. I enjoy making my picks, but above all, I enjoy receiving weekly picks via facebook messaging (Kevin and Jim). Can't beat it. Anyways, the format for this week will be similar to last week to avoid any and all confusion. I will list each of our top five picks followed by our reasonings and explanations which will undoubtedly turn into a complete comedy hour at some point this season. However, Kevin apparently picked 18 games this week...but somehow narrowed it down to just five due to time constraints. 1. Iowa (-19) at Indiana
Iowa is every bit as good as Wisconsin is, and the Badgers crushed Indiana in Bloomington=Iowa crushes Indiana in Bloomington.

2. Purdue (-7) at Northwestern
PJ Hill's legs ripped apart Northwestern's porous defense last week. This week, they have to deal with the arm of Purdue's Curtis Painter. All in all, Tiller's mustache is too much for Fitzgerald to handle.

3. Maryland (-3.5) at Virginia
Maryland put up a good fight last week against GT, but came up just short. I believe that the loss actually gives the Terrapins confidence, and lets them know they can play with anybody. They won't come up short in this one...at least I hope not.

4. Ohio St. (-14) at Michigan St.
I hate games involving Michigan St., because they are the most inconsistent team of all time. However, I am going to follow the recent trend and say the mental mistakes continue. Oh yeah...and Ohio St. is the best team in the country.

5. Miami (FL) (-26) vs. Florida Intl.
Florida Intl. is 0-6, but are probably one of the best 0-6 teams out there. Does that even make sense? Somehow I think it does. My prediction, Miami finally has a big day, a coming out party if you will, and makes a statement against Florida Intl. That's funny...a statement against Florida Intl.

Kevin's Reasonings:
1. Iowa (-19) at Indiana
Indiana lost to Connecticut at home, and lost by 35 points to Wisconsin at home as well. Iowa, fresh of a 30 point domination of Purdue, will continue to roll in Indiana.

2. Purdue (-7) at Northwestern
Purdue has the worst pass defense in the Big Ten, Northwestern has the worst pass offense in the Big Ten...should be interesting and high scoring. Purdue finds a way to stop NW enough times to win by at least 7.

3. Georgia (-13.5) vs. Vandy
So far all my picks have been for the away team. Georgia, however, is at home and ranked #16 in the nation. Vanderbilt (Sharp's boyfriends alma mater) is only 2-4. One of the wins was against Temple, in which they gave up 14 pts to the Owls. Owls score 14, Georgia scores 40 plus. Goodnight Vandy, your out by the half.

4. Utah (-3) at Wyoming
Utah is looking to win the Mountain West and currently are atop it. Beating a 2-4 Wyoming team will help. Utah won by 30 in last seasons win. I expect this game to be tighter but Utah plays well enough to cover by 3.

5. Maryland (-3.5) at Virginia
Maryland burned me last week against G. Tech, keeping it close enough to make Tech fail to cover the spread. Basically, I feel Maryland is playing well and Virginia sucks. Maryland by a touchdown.

Jim's Reasonings:
1. Clemson (-45) vs. Temple @ Charlotte, N.C.
Clemson is the team that keeps on screwing me, but I'm implementing the Temple rule this week because, well they suck. Clemson wins in a game that is over in the first quarter.

2. Wisconsin (-8) vs. Minnesota
In the battle for Paul Bunyan's Axe, the Badgers keep it for another year and do it handily. Maroney is gone, so the Badgers D will take out Cupito, and maybe even Casillas can block a punt for old time sake.

3. Iowa (-19) at Indiana
Indiana will get beat by Iowa just as badly as they did against Wisconsin. Iowa is a tough team and will be a solid pick for most of the year.

4. Rutgers (+2.5) at Navy
In my wildcard pick of the week, I'll go with 5-0 Rutgers over 5-1 Navy. I actually know nothing about Navy, but who cares.

5. Cal (-8.5) at Washington State
Going to the Left Coast, I take Cal who is riding a hot streak over the Cougars. Cal is undefeated since that first week L to Tennessee.

Mike's Reasonings:
1. Central Florida (+10.5) vs. Pitt
Going with UCF on this. Pitt has always recruited Florida well, including 18
Floridians on this years squad. But that means nothing when 2 former NFL
coaches get together in the land of 99 cent t-shirts and all you can eat
chicken wings. Pitt 30 UCF 24.

2. Miami Ohio (-8) at Buffalo
Taking Miami OH here. I have a feeling Buffalo may be looking ahead to their
showdown versus Wisconsin sometime next month.
Miami 38 Buffalo 17.

3. Missouri (-2.5) at Texas A+M
Mizzou is essentially playing a home game here, with 24 native Texans on their
squad. Tigers QB Chase Daniel will have a big game, hopefully, because I will
look like an ass if he doesn't.
Mizzou 27 A+M 21.

4. Toledo (+7.5) at Kent State
Loving Toledo here. My step-mom is from Toledo, and Kent State has a player
named Fritz on their team. Fritz Jacques. Never a good sign.
Toledo 31 Kent State 28.

5. Upset Special of the Week:
Kentucky (+26) at LSU
Kentucky didn't look bad against the Gators in September. And LSU can see their
BCS hopes floating into the Gulf.

Weekend Results

Well it was another good weekend of college football, and of course it was the first weekend of the new picking segment. Here are the standings after the inaugural week:

Tyler Palko didn't have as good of a game as I thought, but Pitt still won 21-11, and covered the 7 point spread. 2-0.

3. Georgia Tech (-14) vs. Maryland
Georgia Tech came back to win the game 27-23, but didn't cover the spread. 2-1.

4. West Virginia (-21) @ Miss. St.
Thanks to a last minute punt return by West Virginia, they won the game by 28 points. 3-1.

5. South Florida (-6.5) vs. UCONN
Just as a suspected, UCONN is horrible. South Florida wins 38-16 and easily covers the 6.5 point spread. 4-1.

Kevin's Results:

Iowa rips apart Purdue's defense and wins by 30. 2-0.

Miami does just enough to cover the spread and wins 27-7. 3-0.

Duke actually scores 14 points but still loses by 16. Bama doesn't cover. 3-1.

Georgia Tech came back to win the game 27-23, but didn't cover the spread. 3-2.

Clemson scores 24 points in the 4th quarter to win 27-17...but they didn't cover. 1-1.

Arkansas man-handles Auburn 27-10. Tough one. 1-2.

4. LSU (-2) @ Florida
Florida dominates LSU in the Swamp 23-10. Jim is having a tough week. 1-3.

5. West Virginia (-21) @ Miss. St.
As I said before, that punt return allowed WVU to cover. Jim needed this one bad and got it. 2-3.

Here are the picks for this week. We were supposed to have four individuals making predictions, but only three (including myself) are doing so this week. I have the picks listed below for easy viewing, and then the reasonings for each pick to follow if you're into that. I still don't have a name for this weekly event, so please give me one. That said, onto the picks:

My Reasonings:
1. Wisconsin (-20.5) vs. Northwestern
Simply put, Northwestern sucks. They have some sort of quarterback shuffle going on that isn't working. They have lost to some bad teams this year and got crushed by Penn St. last weekend, and Penn St. didn't even play well.

2. Pittsburgh (-7) @ Syracuse
Tyler Palko will absolutely shred the Syracuse defense. Also, Syracuse may be without 2 starting wide outs in this one.

3. Georgia Tech (-14) vs. Maryland
Georgia Tech has Reggie Ball and Calvin Johnson, Maryland doesn't.

4. West Virginia (-21) @ Miss. St.
West Virginia has too much offense and Miss. St. is not good. 21 points is not much to ask from WVU.

5. South Florida (-6.5) vs. UCONN
I usually only use the UCONN name for the basketball team, but I was too lazy to write out the whole name. I only say this because the UCONN football team doesn't warrant the UCONN name.

Kevin's Reasonings:
1. Wisconsin (-20.5) vs. Northwestern
First off, I'm gonna take Wisconsin to beat Northwestern in this Big Ten matchup of some of the youngest D1 coaches in the nation. Guaranteed to be talked about all game.

2. Iowa (-11) vs. Purdue
Second, I will take the Iowa Hawkeyes (Bielema's alma mater) to defeat the Purdue Boilermakers. Iowa will be looking to bounce back from a loss to the #1 Buckeyes last weekend.

3. Miami (FL) (-18.5) vs. North Carolina
Moving away from the Big Ten onto the ACC, I select the University of Miami Florida to win big at home versus the North Carolina Tar Heels.

4. Alabama (-29) vs. Duke
Sticking with the ACC, I'm gonna pick the Duke Blue Devils, with their horrid 3.25 points per game to lose badly on the road at the Hands of the Crimson Tide in Alabama.

5. Georgia Tech (-14) vs. Maryland
Finally I like the G. Tech Yellow Jackets on the Shoulders of the man child Calvin Johnson to beat the Maryland Terrapins.

Jim's Reasonings:
1. Wisco (-20.5) vs. Northwestern
I always go with Wisconsin against Northwestern, even the year after they give up 674 yards of offense to them.

2. Clemson (-16.5) @ Wake Forest
Clemson killed me against Florida State three weeks ago and they have been covering the spread easily lately.

3. Auburn (-15.5) vs. Arkansas
SEC battles are good, but Auburn beat LSU and killed everyone else they played.

4. LSU (-2) @ Florida
I like LSU, I don't know why, plus I hate Florida.

5. West Virginia (-21) @ Miss. St.
Mississippi State sucks, and W.Va. is good, yeah and Steve Slaton.

Male Restroom Etiquette

Check out this 10 minute video I found today. I know you all have at least 10 minutes to waste, so why not waste it watching this. It's on male restroom etiquette, which all of us (men and women alike), should be aware of. I am not sure about female restroom etiquette, but I'm guessing it's a bit different from what you are about to see. If any female wants to explain female restroom etiquette, please feel free to do so. All I know is that group bathroom breaks are acceptable and even preferred among women. Talking in the bathroom seems to be a normal occurrence, and they don't have to worry about the one-urinal between rule as they don't use urinals. Perhaps there is a one-stall between rule though. Not sure. Anyways, watch the video.

Weekend Recap

I thought I would post a little recap of the week that was and how the picks panned out. All in all, I could've done better with the picks, but I didn't. Also, I am happy to announce a new weekly blog that is in the mix. In addition to my top 5 betting picks of the week (NCAA football only), three other special guests will be picking their top 5 as well. Hopefully we will be able to do it every week and keep a running total on each of our records throughout the season. I will post the picks every Thursday before the Thursday night game starts, so check that out. With that said, onto the recap.

Baseball Picks

NL Central
My pick: Houston Astros
Winner: St. Louis Cardinals
Thoughts: Anybody could've picked the Cardinals to win, I decided to go out on a limb and take the Astros. At least they made it interesting.

NL West
My pick: San Diego Padres
Winner: San Diego Padres
Thoughts: Both the Padres and Dodgers are playing good baseball...NLCS matchup anyone????

NL Wildcard
My pick: Philadelphia Phillies
Winner: Los Angeles Dodgers
Thoughts: I obviously I was wrong on this one, and to make it worse, the Phillies costed me $250 on parlay when they lost to the Nationals 3-1. I don't like the Phillies right now.

I only picked 1 of 3 right overall...not too good.

Side Note: At least the Brewers finished above the Cubbies.

College Football Picks

1. BYU (-110) at TCU -5.5 (-110)
My Pick: TCU to cover and win by 14
Result: BYU won the game 31-17, broke TCU's 13 game winning streak in the process, and started my weekend off 0-1.

2. Tennessee -13 (-110) at Memphis (-110)
My Pick: Tennessee to cover and win by 21
Result: Tennessee won by 34. 1-1 on the weekend.

3. Boise St. +4 (-110) at Utah (-110)
My pick: Boise St. by 3
Result: They ended up winning by 33. Either way, I got this one right and am now 2-1.

4. Michigan -10 (-110) at Minnesota (-110)
My pick: Michigan to cover and win by 17
Result: Michigan won by 14, got that weird jug back, and made me 3-1.

5. The Temple Rule of Thumb
My pick: Vanderbilt to cover (-34) and win by 42
Result: Vanderbilt won 43-14, which means they didn't quite cover. The loss puts me at 3-2 for the weekend.

Bad news: 3 for 5 isn't very good, and I don't get how Vandy didn't cover.
Good news: If you go 3 for 5 every weekend, you will win money every weekend. Also, despite the loss, The Temple Rule of Thumb is still a rule of thumb.
