Bowl Week 2 Picks: A Whales ______.

Bowl Week 2 is here...and that means better games, hopefully. The first week was filled with blow outs and bowl games that nobody watches. However, every week after, more and more viewers tune in until it all culminates with the National Championship...it's science. Speaking of tuning in, tough decision tonight, listen to the Badger basketball game on the radio or watch the Emerald Bowl. I'll go with the former. Go Big Ten! Onto the picks:

My Picks:

1. Central Michigan (-9) vs. Middle Tenn. St.
The fact that Middle Tennessee St. is in a bowl is proof that there are too many bowl games.

2. Florida St. (+3) vs. UCLA
Did you know that Drew Weatherford was Homecoming King?

3. Oklahoma St. (-2) vs. Alabama
For the last time this year…I don’t like John Parker Wilson.

4. Rutgers (-7) vs. Kansas St.
I like Schiano in this one.

5. Cal (-4) vs. Texas A&M
The game is in San Diego, which of course means, a whales _____(left blank for the kids).

6. Clemson (-9.5) vs. Kentucky
This has the potential to be the “lock of the bowl season.” But I’m not saying it.

7. Oregon St. (-3.5) vs. Mizzou
Beavers over Tigers.

8. South Carolina (-6) vs. Houston
What are the odds that Steve Spurrier becomes the next Joe Paterno?

9. Texas Tech (-6.5) vs. Minnesota
I always root for the Big Ten during bowl season, but Minnesota sucks at football this year.

10. Purdue (pick) vs. Maryland
Here’s my Big Ten bias at its best.

11. Boston College (-6) vs. Navy
I vote Doug Flutie as next coach.

12. Iowa (+9) vs. Texas
Big Ten baby.

13. VT (-2.5) vs. Georgia
If you’re bored reading this…search Georgia in Yahoo images…it never gets old.

14. Miami (-3.5) vs. Nevada
Coke over Pepsi. Coker over whoever the hell Nevada’s coach is.


Kevin’s Picks:

Ahh yes, the battle of the middle and centrals. Its in Detroit, I’m taking Cent. Michigan.

2. UCLA (-3) vs. Florida State
Where does California get off saying they are a better dairy state than us? Go Bruins!

3. Oklahoma State (-2) vs. Alabama
I told you magenta doesn’t like Tulsa. She doesn’t like Bama either.

4. Rutgers (-7) vs. K State
Schiano finishes a great season out with a bowl win.

5. Cal (-4) vs. Texas A&M
I’ll take Cal even though I once had them as a LOC (lock of the century) and lost earlier. Weird how LOC spells “lock” also. Cool eh?

First off, I hope that everyone enjoyed the holiday week. It's good to see the Brewers add another pitcher to the staff as well. Badger basketball is looking good, let's hope they keep it rolling. Now on to the Bowl Week 2 Picks:

1. Motor City Bowl
Cental Michigan (-9) vs. Middle Tennessee State
Blue Raiders lose.

2. Emerald City Bowl
UCLA (-3) vs. Florida State
Florida State has had one of the worst years they've had since I've watched college football, UCLA beat USC.

3. Independence Bowl
Oklahoma State (-2) vs. Alabama
Did you know that Forrest Gump played for Alabama?

4. Texas Bowl
Rutgers (-7) vs. Kansas State
I heard this game is on NFL Network, for those who get that channel, enjoy the game I'll bet it will be wonderful.

5. Holiday Bowl
Texas A & M (+4) vs. Cal
I tried to like both of these teams for my picks this year, it didn't work well.

6. Music City Bowl
Clemson (-9.5) vs. Kentucky
Clemson I thought was good, they aren't that good, but Kentucky isn't either. I think this might be Kentucky's first bowl game in 250 years.

7. Sun Bowl
Oregon State (-3.5) vs. Missouri
Whatever happened to Ken Simonton?

8. Liberty Bowl
South Carolina (-6) vs. Houston
David Klingler played for Houston, his record just got broken. I still hate Steve Spurrier.

9. Insight Bowl
Texas Tech (-6.5) vs. Minnesota
I still cannot believe that Minnesota made a bowl game.

10. Champs Sports Bowl
Purdue (pick) vs. Maryland
Drew Brees played for Purdue, he is having a good year. Maryland wears Under Armor, they will not protect that house.

11. Meineke Car Care Bowl
Navy (+6) vs. Boston College
Who is coaching the game for BC?

12. Alamo Bowl
Iowa (+9) vs. Texas
If Texas isn't in a BCS bowl, they don't care.

13. Chick-fil-a Peach Bowl
Virginia Tech (-2.5) vs. Georgia
I have never liked the Georgia Bulldogs. Troy Smith is better than Michael Vick used to be, but Smith won't be a number one pick like Vick was.

14. MPC Computers Bowl
Miami (-3.5) vs. Nevada
Miami had a terrible terrible season, but pull one out here in the end. Larry Coker looks like a plantation owner.
